75 years 75 objects
A lovely keepsake from the Navy 75th Anniversary exhibition, 75 years 75 objects.
On October 1st 1941, the Royal New Zealand Navy was created from what had been the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. This marked a crucial step in the formation of today’s Navy.
The Navy Museum explores the last 75 years in 75 objects. From bottles of green ink to plastic sandals and a Dr. Suess book, the objects are quirky and emotive. There is not an object for every important event. Neither is there an object for every hero. Instead, we hope these objects incite interest, surprise, recognition and conversation. This booklet tells the story of each object chosen for the exhibition. Beautifully designed with rich imagery and fine storytelling, it is a keepsake for anyone involved with the Royal New Zealand Navy – or anyone who wants to be.
