Anzac Day – We Remember the stories of those who served.
This Anzac Day, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we are unable to host activities to commemorate those who have served, and those who have lost their lives in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
But we can share some of the stories of those who served. We have many stories as part of our collection, some of which are already here on our website. Unfortunately, we don’t have the individual stories of all those who have served, but this Anzac Day we would like to share four stories of New Zealanders who served in the Fleet Air Arm as pilots or observers during World War Two. Three were Prisoners of War, three didn’t come home, one did. We hope you take the time to read their stories.
