Petty Officer Wren Noeline Fanning and Petty Officer Tony De Courcy (Compilers)

This album contains images of the Wireless Transfer station HMNZS IRIRANGI in Waiouru during the Second World War. Both Fanning and De Courcy served in IRIRANGI, and were later married. Images from the album include the countryside near Waiouru, Ruapehu billowing smoke after an eruption, telegraphists at work, portraits of Wrens (Women’s Royal New Zealand Naval Service) and other sailors, concert parties, sports teams, and gatherings in the snow.
