Cook (S) Gordon Graham (Compiler and photographer)
1945 – 1946
Graham served as a Cook on HMS ACHILLES during the Second World War and managed to acquire film, which was expensive, through a trade of some tinned peaches from his ship’s galley. This allowed him to capture many original images in Japan after the surrender. His album includes views from Tokyo Bay, portraits of locals, the destruction wrought by bombing, and visiting snow-covered Nikko.
