Captain Robert Newton (Compiler)

Circa 1900 – 1907

Newton settled in New Zealand after temporarily retiring from the Royal Navy in 1909. He then re-enlisted and served in the First and Second World Wars. Images from this album show a mixture of naval and personal activities: test-firing weapons, mine laying, motor boats, armory workshops, ballooning at Crystal Palace (England), views of the countryside, and the Swiss mountains.
