Furniture in the Boyle Room Torpedo Bay Navy Museum

Mahogany sideboard from the Admiral’s dining cabin of HMS New Zealand. After the ship was broken up, the sideboard was shipped to New Zealand and spent many years in the Members and Spouses Lounge of the Parliament Buildings, Wellington. When the Parliament Buildings were refurbished in 1992, the sideboard was passed on to the Royal New Zealand Navy. It was refurbished by HMNZS Dockyard. New glass cabinets  were fitted to replace those which had been lost and a bronze plaque replaces a centre-piece which has also been lost.
