Terms & Conditions of Entry to the Navy Museum at Torpedo Bay
For the enjoyment of all visitors and for the protection of the Taonga, entry to the National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy is subject to some important conditions.
Important things that all visitors should know:
The National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy is located on a Defence Area. All persons entering or remaining in this Defence Area are subject to restrictions imposed under part III of the Defence Regulations 1990.
The operating hours of the National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy are between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday. The National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday.
All visitors entering the Museum do so at their own risk. The National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy will take all reasonable practicable steps to ensure the health and safety of all visitors entering the Museum.
Visitors to the National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy are expected to obey all National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy terms and conditions when present on Museum premises.
In accordance with the Museum Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults policy all children under the age of 14 must be accompanied, at all times, by a parent or guardian.
The National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy is a smoke-free environment.
Use of the free public Wi-Fi service provided by the National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy is subject to the relevant terms and conditions available for review at the Front Desk.
The National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy reserves the right to change prices, activities, displays and times of entry without prior notice.
Food and beverages are only permitted in the café or areas external to the Museum buildings. No food or beverages may be consumed in the Museum galleries.
Visitors must not bring roller skates, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters, bicycles or similar transport into the National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy. Toddlers’ ride-on toys are permitted only if fitted with a rigid fixed handle and, at all times, under the control of a responsible adult.
Photography and video is permitted for personal use only (commercial use must be negotiated prior to shooting and with written permission from the National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy).
Footwear must be worn at all times in National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy buildings.
No dogs are permitted in the National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy buildings (except service dogs).
Alcohol is not permitted on the Defence Area without prior arrangement.
You will be asked to leave the National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy when you:
• Engage in conduct which unreasonably interferes with the enjoyment of National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy by other visitors;
• Hamper or impede the conduct of National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy activities; or
• Breach any of the terms and conditions, by-laws or orders applicable to National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy
