Are you fascinated by the stars? Join navigation expert and former Senior Navigation Instructor, CDR David Hedgley (Rtd). and a group of NZ Navy Navigation Officers at the Navy Museum for a two part workshop and discover the basics of navigating by the stars.
You’ll find out how to use a sextant, pick the stars and some interesting facts about the Earth.
In a second session on Maungauika – North Head you’ll learn how to use the Earth’s meridian to find your position, the importance of time and you may even be able to watch the spin of the Earth with your own eyes!
New dates to be confirmed later in 2020 – keep watching our facebook page for details.
