Able Seaman Stewart Tyson (Compiler)

Circa 1926 – 1939

Tyson served in the Royal New Zealand Navy for 18 years. Images within his album include visits to Pacific Islands, the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932, and his visits to Hollywood, Hawaii, the Blue Mountains, and the Milford and George Sounds. It also depicts the aftermath of the 1931 Napier earthquake, featuring the disaster relief efforts of the crews of HMS DIOMEDE and DUNEDIN.
