Exhibition of photography by Tudor Collins
Tudor W Collins (1898-1970)
Tudor was a revered and prolific photographer who enlisted as a Petty Officer in the Royal New Zealand Navy in 1942. During his service, Tudor turned his lens to those serving at Devonport Naval Base in minesweepers, patrol vessels and at Calliope Dockyard, amassing over 10,000 original photographs. Tudor’s accomplished eye captured the ‘courage of the everyday’. Many of these faces may remain nameless but their contribution will always be remembered.
This exhibition curated by Rachael Stallard – Photo Archivist, Navy Museum was held in the Museum’s entrance gallery from March – August 2020.
