Presented to RNZN by Commander A.J.T. Shorting RN, on board HMNZS Canterbury at Portsmouth, Hampshire, United Kingdom – 3 August 1977.
CDR Shorting served as a Warrant Officer Engineer in HMS Achilles 1939-40.
