While you would not necessarily think Naval collections would have much to do with food, food preparation and consumption both at sea and onshore forms a vital part of Navy life. We have quite a range of food related items in our collection, including everything from emergency rations to ornate dinner plates. These sorts of items can help us tell the social history of the New Zealand Navy. In celebration of World Food Day, here are just a few of our favourite food related items in the collection.
